Hackers used to hack passwords with the help of various apps. But now is the age of modern technology. So many people are trying their hand at plagiarism even using AI.
A recent Cornell University study found that AI apps can learn passwords in a special way. If you know what that special way is, you can wake up.
Scientists claim, AI can learn your password just by listening to the sound of typing on the keyboard. Recently, computer scientists from Cornell University jointly developed an AI machine. The app is trained on keyboard sounds. After training, it was found that the app can accurately copy the words when someone types on the keyboard. Not only that, but when asked to spell the words he spelled, he was 95 percent correct.
In this way, the password can be known by listening to the sound of the keyboard during the zoom video. Recently, Zoom asked to mute and type the password. No one can copy the sound of the keyboard.
How are passwords hacked by AI ?
The AI app first creates a database of keyboard sounds to hack passwords by listening to keyboard sounds. This database contains a variety of keyboard sounds. For example, mechanical keyboard, laptop keyboard, tablet keyboard etc.
Once the database is created, the AI app compares the new keyboard sounds to that database. If the new keyboard sound matches a sound in the database, the AI app can find the password that matches that sound.
How can passwords be protected from hacking?
You can follow the following steps to protect yourself from password hacking:
• Use complex passwords. Your password must be at least 8 characters long and contain numbers, letters and symbols.
• Do not use the same password on multiple sites. Use a different password for each site.
• Use a password manager. A password manager will help you store all your passwords securely.
• Mute and type password. Mute your password during zoom video so no one can hack your password by listening to keyboard sounds.
Password hacking is a serious problem. So follow the above steps to avoid it.
